The fastest way to receive your refund is to have it directly deposited into your checking, savings or other financial account. You can divide your refund in up to 3 financial accounts. You can check the status of your refund through Where's My Refund or the IRS2Go app.

If you need to pay your 2019 taxes or make an estimated tax payment, the IRS provides several electronic payment options. You can also make a payment when you file electronically using tax software.

If you need more time to file your taxes, you can request an extension electronically through Free File. Or you can get an extension by paying all or part of your tax due using Direct Pay, the Electronic Federal Tax Payment Systems or a credit or debit card. You will need to indicate that they payment is for an extension.
